NAME ORIGIN
A sea is a large expanse of saline water connected with an ocean, or a large lake that lacks a natural outlet. The word comes from the Old English word . A scorpion is an arachnid of the order Scorpionida widely distributed in warmer parts of the world, having a long, narrow, segmented tail that terminates in a venomous stinger. The word comes from the Greek skorpios. As far as I know, there is no real animal known as a "sea scorpion" and this appears to be an invention of Square. If anyone has any information, please feel free to contact the Webmaster.
In the original NES release, this enemy was named Lobster. A lobster is a large, edible, marine, dull-green, stalk-eyed decapod crustacean of the family Homaridae having large, asymmetrical pincers on the first pair of legs, one used for crushing and other for cutting and tearing. The word comes from the Old English word loppestre.
