NAME ORIGIN
Sahagin comes from Sahuagin, the name of a species of vicious fish-men who live deep beneath the sea. The inspiration for this creature and the name draws from the "sea hag" myths of eastern Europe. A prince is a non-reigning male member of a royal family, usually the son of a king. The word comes from the Latin princeps meaning "first, chief".
In the original NES release, this enemy was named WzSahag, short for Wizard Sahagin despite the fact that it does not use any magic spells. A wizard is a person who practices magic. The word comes from the Middle English word wisard meaning "wise".
