NAME ORIGIN
Saber-toothed tigers are extinct members of the cat family Felidae from the Oligocene to Pleistocene Epochs, having greatly elongated, saberlike upper canine teeth.
In the original NES release of Final Fantasy, the Sabertooth's name was shortened to Saber T due to the 8 character limit on enemy names.
