The Rebel Hideout was a building in the village of Altair that the Wild Rose Rebellion fled to following the Palamecian Empire's invasion of Fynn. The makeshift headquarters contained a throne room, bedchamber for the King of Fynn and his daughter, Princess Hilda as well as a room containing a magic Sigil that could heal wounded soldiers. The Rebellion staged their attacks on the Empire from this building until they reclaimed Castle Fynn from the Empire's forces. Shortly after, the Rebel Hideout, along with the rest of Altair, was wiped off the map by the devastating Cyclone summoned by Emperor Mateus.

GAME INFO
The Rebel Hideout is located in Altair and is the staging point for most of the early missions in Final Fantasy II. From the throne room, Princess Hilda gives orders and key terms to aid Firion and his allies in their quest. After returning from Deist, the Lamia Queen is fought as a boss in Princess Hilda's bedchamber. After reclaiming Castle Fynn, the Rebel Hideout is deserted by the Wild Rose Rebellion. After completing the Mysidian Tower, the Cyclone will destroy Altair, preventing access to the Rebel Hideout.

NAME ORIGIN
A rebel is someone who resists and fights back against the government or ruler of their country. The word comes from the Latin rebellare meaning "to make war". A hideout is a safe place for hiding. The word originated around 1870.
