Mythril Ore was a deposit of the magical metal Mythril found at the bottom of wells in the Arcane Labyrinth's Mythril dungeon. While exploring the dungeon, Firion and his allies came across an old man asking them to spare some of the mythical Ore that they might come across. The heroes handed over a chunk of Mythril Ore that they had discovered, and the grateful old man exclaimed that with a little polish, the Ore could make weapons and armor that shine like a Mirror.

GAME INFO
Mythril Ore is found randomly at the bottom of one of the wells scattered around the "Mythril" level of the Arcane Labyrinth. Recovering the Ore and presenting it to the old man will award the heroes with the key term "Mirror".

NAME ORIGIN
Mythril derives from mithril, a fictional metal in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. It is a silver colored metal, stronger than steel but lighter in weight. The word comes from Sindarin, an artificial language created by Tolkien. Mith means "grey" and ril means "glitter". Mithril is used in several other works of fantasy, such as the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, where the original Final Fantasy borrowed most material. Ore is a metal-bearing mineral or rock that can be mined for profit. The word comes from the Old English ora meaning "unreduced metal".
