FINAL FANTASY II :: CHARACTERS

PRONUNCIATION: laird
ORIGINAL JAPANESE NAME: Unknown
ORIGINS NAME: Did not appear
DAWN OF SOULS NAME: Did not appear
ANNIVERSARY EDITION NAME: Laird

    The Laird was an important man in one of the ancient villages terrorized by the evil Dragoons Maya, Orga and Vishuss many ages ago. He hired a brave warrior to defeat the Dragoons and return the villages to peace. The warrior vanquished Orga and Maya, but Vishuss eluded him and snuck off to the Laird's home where he murdered the Laird. The warrior avenged the Laird's death, however, and felled Vishuss in battle. The ghosts of the Laird, and the three Dragoons, would come to haunt a mysterious cavern accessed through the Arcane Labyrinth by speaking the key term "Dragoons" to one of the seals found throughout the Labyrinth. The Laird continued to be chased through the afterlife by the evil spirits of the Dragoons until Firion and his allies finally took them down in the same order as the warrior did many years ago, finally putting their dark souls to rest. The grateful ghost of the Laird thanked the heroes and revealed the secret to waking the Wyvern found elsewhere in the Labyrinth.

GAME INFO
    The Laird's ghost is encountered in the Arcane Labyrinth level accessed by using the key term "Dragoons". Defeating Maya, Orga and Vishuss in the correct order will prompt the Laird's ghost to reveal the secret to waking the Wyvern in the Arcane Labyrinth's "Wyverns" dungeon by ringing the Goddess's Bell.
