Jade was an area of Hell, traversed by the Jade Passage. It was the only way to reach the crystalline palace of Hell, Pandaemonium. Following their untimely deaths at the hands of the Palamecian Empire, the fallen heroes Minwu, Prince Scott, Josef and Ricard Highwind mistakenly believed they were in Jade, but they later learned that they had in fact found themselves in Raqia, the realm of fallen angels.

GAME INFO
Jade, as a region of Hell, is referred to by several characters in the Soul of Rebirth quest in Dawn of Souls and the 20th Anniversary Edition.

NAME ORIGIN
Jade is the name for two distinct minerals, nephrite and jadeite, that are generally a pale shade of green and used as ornamental gemstones for carving or jewelry. The word comes from the Spanish piedra de l'ijada meaning "stone of colic, pain in the side" because jade gemstones were thought to cure this ailment.
