    The Healer was an Elf who tended to the sleeping Elf Prince for the five years he slumbered under Astos' curse. He had no luck awakening the Prince until the Warriors of Light arrived in Elfheim with a bottle of Jolt Tonic which roused the Prince from his slumber.

GAME INFO
    The Healer can be found beside the Elf Prince in the throne room of the Elven Castle.

NAME ORIGIN
    A healer is someone who heals, or attempts to heal. In this case, the Healer was attempting to remove the curse placed on the Elf Prince. The word comes from the Old English word hælan.
    The Healer was unnamed in the original NES release of Final Fantasy and did not receive a name until the Dawn of Souls release.
