    The Festival of the Flame was a celebration held in Kashuan every three years. During the Festival, the Sunfire was passed to Egil's Torch while its brazier in Kashuan Keep's central chamber was cleansed.

GAME INFO
    The Festival of the Flame does not occur during Final Fantasy II, but it is mentioned by Minwu to indicate that Egil's Torch is needed to carry the Sunfire out of Kashuan Keep.

NAME ORIGIN
    A festival is a day or time of religious or other celebration, marked by feasting, ceremonies or other observances that recurs at regular intervals. The word comes from the Middle Latin festivalis dies meaning "holy day". A flame is a burning gas or vapor that is undergoing combustion. The word comes from the Latin word flammula.
