NAME ORIGIN
Eyemoeba is a combination of eye and amoeba. An eye is the organ responsible for sight. The word eye comes from the Proto-Germanic word augon. An amoeba is a freshwater, marine or parasitic unicellular protozoa of the order Amoebida, having no definite form and consisting of a mass of protoplasm containing one or more nuclei surrounded by a flexible outer membrane. The word comes from the Greek amoibe meaning "change".
In Final Fantasy Origins, this enemy was named Hecteyes. Hecto is a combining form meaning "hundred", thus this enemy's name is "hundred eyes". The word comes from the Greek hekatón which translates to "hundred".
