NAME ORIGIN
Earth is the name given to soil and dirt, the dry surface matter of our planet. It is one of the four classical elements present in the old world mythologies. The word comes from the Old English word eorthe. A plant is a member of the kingdom Plantae, comprising multicellular organisms that produce their own food through photocynthesis. The word comes from the Latin word planta meaning "sprout" or "seedling". The concept of an "earth plant" seems to be an invention of Square, and has no basis in folklore or mythology.
