    Dragon King was the title given to the leader of the race of Dragons who inhabited the Cardian Islands. Bahamut held this title when the Warriors of Light visited the Islands during their quest to restore the light of the Crystals.

    Bahamut is the current Dragon King during the course of the game and can be found on the middle isle of the Cardian Islands.

NAME ORIGIN
    Dragons are popular throughout the folklore and mythologies of the world. The word dragon comes from the Greek word drakon, meaning a "serpent" or "seafish". A king is a male sovereign, the leader of a kingdom. The word comes from the Proto-Germanic word kuninggaz.
