NAME ORIGIN
A diamond is a crystalline form of carbon, renowned for its hardness and used as a gemstone and as a cutting tool. A shield is a broad piece of armor, carried apart from the body as a defense against swords, lances, arrows and other weapons. The word comes from the Old English word scield.
