NAME ORIGIN
A diamond is a crystalline form of carbon, renowned for its hardness and used as a gemstone and as a cutting tool. The word comes from the Latin word adamas, which is also the root of the word "adamant". A helm is a piece of armor, usually made of metal, designed to protect the wearer's head. The word comes from the Old French word helme.
In the original NES release, the Diamond Helm was called the Opal Helmet. Opal is a milky-white mineral used as a precious gemstone. The word comes from the Sanskrit upala-s meaning "precious stone".
