NAME ORIGIN
A diamond is a crystalline form of carbon, renowned for its hardness and used as a gemstone and as a cutting tool. The word comes from the Latin word adamas, which is also the root of the word "adamant". A cuirass is a defensive armor for the torso comprising a breastplate and backplate, originally made of leather. The word comes from the Late Latin coriacea vestis meaning "garment of leather".
In Final Fantasy Origins, this armor was called Diamond Plate. A plate is a piece of armor made from a thin, flat piece of tough material.
