NAME ORIGIN
A diamond is a crystalline form of carbon, renowned for its hardness and used as a gemstone and as a cutting tool. The word comes from the Latin word adamas, which is also the root of the word "adamant". Armor is a metallic, protective covering worn as defense against weaponry. The word comes from the Latin armatura meaning "equipment".
In Final Fantasy Origins, this armor was called Diamond Mail. Mail is a flexible armor made up of interlocking metal rings. The word comes from the Latin word macula which means "mesh of a net".
