NAME ORIGIN
A diamond is a crystalline form of carbon, renowned for its hardness and used as a gemstone and as a cutting tool. The word comes from the Latin word adamas, which is also the root of the word "adamant". Armor is a metallic, protective covering worn as defense against weaponry. The word comes from the Latin armatura meaning "equipment".
In the original NES release, the Diamond Armor was called the Opal Armor. Opal is a milky-white mineral used as a precious gemstone. The word comes from the Sanskrit upala-s meaning "precious stone".
