ANNIVERSARY EDITION NAME: Deumion

Deumion was an incredibly powerful mage from the ancient city of Perseria. Along with his vast knowledge of magic spells, he even possessed the ability to summon forth divine beasts. While traveling through the Arcane Labyrinth, Firion and his allies encountered Deumion and relived several turning points in his life. When war broke out many ages ago, he was one of a handful of children lost amid the confusion as Perseria burned under enemy attacks. His Mother franticly searched through the ravaged town, but to no avail. Firion and his friends helped find the young child in the north east corner of the town, returning him to his gracious mother.
Years later, Deumion was becoming even more proficient in his magic abilities. When Firion and his friends found themselves in a hostile cave surrounded by a cadre of enemy soldiers, Deumion arrived to come to their rescue. He used his magic to incapacitate the soldiers, leaving them unconscious. He lamented to Firion that although he has fought tirelessly to extinguish the flames of war engulfing his world, he feared that Destruction was imminent.
Uttering the word "Destruction" to the mysterious seal in the Arcane Labyrinth, the heroes found themselves in a large fortress outside Perseria. As war raged around the ancient city, a council was convened to come to a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Mages under the command of the General, worked tirelessly to create a powerful magic spell to stop the fighting. With the help of Firion and his allies, the mages concocted Destroy, but the council had reached a truce to end the war before the magic could be used. The General decided to appoint a Guardian to seal and watch over the Destroy Tome to insure it would not fall into the hands of evil. As the most powerful wizards and mages had already fallen in the war, the only other option, as suggested by Rahn, a noble of Perseria, was to appoint a young boy from his village known to be highly skilled in magic. That boy was Deumion, and, reluctantly, the council agreed that he must be the one to protect the Tome. The General ordered his troops to search Perseria for the boy and prepare him for his role as Guardian.
Speaking the word "Guardian" to the Arcane Labyrinth's magical seal transported Firion and his friends to Perseria once more, just as the General's soldiers were searching for Deumion. Inside his home, he reasoned with his Mother, explaining to her that it was his destiny to protect the Destroy Tome, and preserve the hopes and future of mankind. Before leaving with the soldiers, he stopped to speak to Firion, sensing that someday their paths would cross again. Deumion left behind the Light of Hope and went with the General's soldiers to fulfill his destiny as the Destroy Tome's Guardian.
Many centuries later, Firion and his friends encountered Deumion once more at the Arcane Sanctuary's High Altar. Fulfilling his role as the seal's Guardian, he summoned forth the fearsome creature, Phrekyos, to battle the heroes. Proving their merit by defeating the magical beast, the heroes were bestowed with incredibly powerful weapons by the Guardian. Firion returned the Light of Hope to Deumion, who recalled their meeting many ages ago. He decided that the heroes were worthy of possessing the great White Magic spell Revive and presented them with the Revive Tome.
When Firion and his allies told Deumion that they sought "Destruction", the Guardian urged them to reconsider. Reluctantly, Deumion challenged Firion and his allies to battle, assaulting them with incredibly powerful magic spells. In the end, however, Deumion fell to the might of the heroes and they acquired the Destroy Tome.
