Destroy was the most powerful Black Magic spell ever created. It had the power to annihilate everything, both friend and foe. During the war in Perseria many ages ago, a great tribunal was convened, presided over by the General. Mages under his command, combining Blue Magicite, Green Magicite and Red Magicite created the Destroy Tome. Before the spell was to be used, however, a peace agreement was reached. The General decided to choose a Guardian to seal away the Destroy Tome and watch over it for all eternity. At the suggestion of Rahn, a noble from Perseria, the General ordered his soldiers to find Deumion, a boy said to be so skilled in magic that he could even summon forth magical creatures. Sensing his destiny, Deumion agreed to act as Guardian of the spell, sealing it away in the Arcane Sanctuary's Gallery.
As Firion and his allies completed the trials of the Arcane Labyrinth, they came face to face with Deumion at the Sanctuary's High Altar. The Guardian tested their abilities by summoning the fearsome beast, Phrekyos, to battle them. The heroes defeated Phrekyos, and Deumion asked them what it is that they seek. They chose "Destruction", despite Deumion's urges to reconsider. Reluctantly, Deumion challenged Firion and his allies to battle, assaulting them with incredibly powerful magic spells. In the end, however, Deumion fell to the might of the heroes and they acquired the Destroy Tome.
