NAME ORIGIN
This monster's name is just a combination of the words deep and eyes. Deep is an adjective describing something that is far below the surface. The word comes from the Old English word deop. An eye is the organ responsible for sight. The word eye comes from the Proto-Germanic word augon. As far as I know, there is no mythological or literary meaning behind the name. If you have any information, please feel free to contact the Webmaster.
In the original NES release, this monster was named BigEye. The enemy named Bigeyes in the original Japanese game was re-translated as OddEye in the NES release.
