NAME ORIGIN
Dark is a word used to denote the absence of light. The word comes from the Old English deorc. An elemental is a being of energy attuned with one of the classical elements. In this case, however, darkness is not one of the classical elements. The word comes from the Latin elementem meaning "rudiment, first principle, matter in its most basic form".
