NAME ORIGIN
A cyclone is a large, violent storm characterized by a low pressure center and circular wind motion. Cyclones spin counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the South Hemisphere. The word comes from the Greek word kykloun meaning "to rotate".
In the original NES release, this attack was called Tornado. A tornado is a violent, destructive windstorm occuring over land, characterized by a funnel-shaped cloud that descends from the sky. The word comes from the Spanish word tronada meaning "thunderstorm".
In Final Fantasy Origins, this attack was called Twister. Twister is a slang given to tornados, first attested in America in 1897.
