NAME ORIGIN
A crosier is a ceremonial staff with a hook at the end similar to a shepherd's crook, carried by an abbot, bishop, or archbishop as a sign of office. The word comes from the Old French crossier meaning "staff bearer".
In the original NES release, the Crosier was called the Iron Staff. Iron is a ductile, malleable metal used for making tools and other machinery. The word comes from the Old English word iren.
