NAME ORIGIN
To confuse is to cause someone to fail to distinguish between things (such as friends or enemies). The word comes from the Latin word confusus meaning "to mix together". A tome is a very heavy, large or learned book. The word comes from the Greek tomos meaning "slice, piece, roll of paper, book" and derives from the word témnein meaning "to cut".
In Final Fantasy Origins, all the magical tomes were called scrolls. This scroll was named Muddle Scroll. To muddle is to mix up in a confused or bungling manner. The word comes from the Middle Dutch word modden which means "to make muddy". A scroll is a long roll of parchment, paper, papyrus or other material used especially for writing a document. The word comes from the Old French escroe meaning "strip of parchment".
