NAME ORIGIN
Bloodbones is the name of a hobgoblin-type creature (also known as Bloody Bones) feared by children in the United Kingdom. The legend of Bloody Bones claims that he lives near water and punishes naughty children by dragging them down into the depths with him. He is not referenced as appearing as a skeleton however, and is described as being covered in dirty, matted hair with pale, flat eyes.
In the original NES release, this monster was named R.Bone, short for Red Bone, since the monster's sprite was colored red.
