Black Knights were the mounted soldiers of the Palamecian Empire. They participated in the invasion of Fynn, where they were responsible for driving out the Wild Rose Rebellion. Firion and his friends were attacked by a group of Black Knights while fleeing Fynn. The Knights quickly defeated the youths and captured Maria's brother, Leon. NAME ORIGIN
A black knight is a typical stock character used in fantasy and medieval literature that is usually an evil knight. The legend of the black knight originates in the practice of knights without a liege, or whose liege did not want identified, who would not bear heraldic standards, or would have them blackened out. Black is the darkest color, at the extreme end of the grayscale opposite white. The word comes from the Old English blæc. A knight is a mounted soldier serving under a feudal king during the Middle Ages. The word comes from the Dutch word knecht, meaning "servant".
