NAME ORIGIN
The name "Bigeyes" comes from the fact that this monster is just a pair of big eyes.
In Final Fantasy Origins, this monster was named Goggler. This comes from "goggles", equipment worn to protect the eyes. The word goggles comes from the Middle English word gogelen, meaning "to squint".
In the original NES release, this monster was named OddEye. Interesting to note was another enemy called BigEye in the NES release, whose Japanese name was Deepeyes.
