NAME ORIGIN
Beelzebub was the name of a deity worshipped in the Philistine city of Ekron. It was later identified as a demon, or as another name for Satan in Christian writings. The name comes from the Hebrew ba'al-z'bub meaning "lord of the flies". The soul is the spiritual nature of a human, regarded as immortal, seperated from the body at death. The word comes from the Old English sawol meaning "spiritual and emotional part of a person, animate existence".
