Beelzebub was an insect-like demon under the command of the reborn Emperor Mateus in the infernal palace Pandaemonium. Wielding powerful high-level magic, Beelzebub guarded the treasure chest containing the legendary Genji Armor.
The insidious fiend also presided over the Arcane Labyrinth Northeast Quarter where he tested those who completed the Labyrinth's trials. Beelzebub also protected an ancient stone tablet found behind a waterfall in the Labyrinth's Jade Passage dungeon.

Beelzebub was the name of a deity worshipped in the Philistine city of Ekron. It was later identified as a demon, or as another name for Satan in Christian writings. The name comes from the Hebrew ba'al-z'bub meaning "lord of the flies".
